Very cool space! I hope it untethers every last ounce of creativity corralled up in your mind.

Safety tip - keep anything even remotely flammable a couple feet away from that woodburner. Yes, even with the firewall behind it.

Oh -and thank you for reiterating that. It is not yet finished, and even with the additional shielding it will have a fireproof backing, and no flammable materials within 20”. I prefery masonry with a recessed as a backwall, because it retains warmth💖

Absolutely. Stone definitely helps heat up the area. And it looks nice, too.

You being a firefighter, I assumed you already knew all this, but my OCD wouldn't let me not share it with my friend in Texas. ;-)

Now all you need are some secret passageway tunnels and a sniper's roost on the roof, and you're all set!

Thank you Jim! I see so many truly beautiful spaces displayed here and elsewhere; but for so many right now in the aftermath of disasters, even a humble home is a distant dream. After my husband’s accident, we were uncertain if he would live, much less be able to work on building a space just for us. I wanted to share this simple place, out of authentic joy and a hope -

Just enough is sometime more than we ever dreamed.

That looks so cozy. And it must be wonderful if the pets approve. Nothing more relaxing then rain on a tin roof. I miss mine. May you have many glorious and cozy days and nights in your Bunker ❤️

What a quaint place to spend drawing, thinking up poems and writing your stories and essays! I love this space and your personal decorating touches. God’s great isn’t He? You know it’s His hand when you have JUST the right amount of money to pay for everything. This has happened to me more times then I can count. Life’s little miracles. So happy for you! Hugs, hugs, hugs! 🤗🤗🤗💖✨💖
