I put my window updates on a long sleep. I refuse to let windows update just whenever it wants.

I'm still looking for a way to turn them completely off. I only use the laptop for writing and web browsing. I don't play game on it.

I had Mint on my laptop to learn with.

My desktop is currently Windows....But, I have too many Win dependent progs to switch. I need my art stuff, and they don't play well with Linux.

When I get a minute, there is an old cheapo laptop that is lined up for the Linux treatment, and it will become the main Internet machine for browsing, posting, and chat. Taking the desktop off the Internet, just because it is my main art machine and I can't afford to waste time fixing it if it bumps into a bad site.

I shifted to MacOS due to teaching and photography. I'm still using the architecture for writing and tax software. I have an older Mac laptop that will be getting a new OS because when Apple decides your system is obsolete, it can get ugly: "Oh, you don't need internet access on that 10 year old device, do you?" 🤬
